LEATHER

VEGETABLE TANNED LEATHER

All the tanneries we source our leathers from, follow strict regional and European legislations.

This covers social, environmental and traceability of production and raw materials as well as energy usage, chemical treatment, etc and tanneries are awarded a medal at the end of the process or rated simply audited.

In addition, all follow European REACH certification on restricted substances. All hides used are by products of the meat and dairy industries and are of European origin and all water used in production is treated and cleaned before reutilisation or releasing.

Regarding certification different tanneries have started the audit process with internationally recognised auditors such as the Leather Working Group (LWG).

British Oak tanned Leather

Oak bark tanning is a long, gentle process that protects the natural fibres of the hide unlike modern tanning methods. The best local hides are selected and treated in a sustainable process using natural products. It takes 14 months to produce each piece of leather.

Expert curriers finish the leather by hand with special blend of natural oils and greases that protect and feed the leather whilst simultaneously emphasising the natural grain and colour. The result is leather that is unrivalled hardwearing, strong and with distinctive colours. We believe the quality and luxury of our leather is testimony to the unique tanning methods and the skilled craftsmanship with which every piece of leather is treated.
